Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

Because of the generosity of the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network, agencies like the United Way, and through fundraising efforts, membership in the Club is FREE! While membership is free, lunch is made available each day for a modest fee for those members who would like to purchase it, or members can bring their own.

Do I have to participate in a program if I come?

No, everyone is welcome to stop in, even if it’s only for a cup of coffee and a friendly chat!

If I don’t have transportation, can the Club assist me?

Yes, one of the services available at the Club is a community integration program that can link you with other services providers in the community that can help meet your needs. Contact your local Club and speak with the Community Integration Director to link to other programs/services available in the community.

If I need personal support outside of the club such as home making, counselling, or meals can the club help me?

Absolutely! The Community Integration Program can assist with networking you to providers to help fill any needs or gaps in services you may have, call your local Club to speak with the Community Integration Director.

Can I volunteer at the New Beginnings Club?

Yes, we are always looking for volunteers to help in various ways. While some people find it rewarding to work directly with our members in the Club, others prefer to help us out with our fundraising and other events. If you want to help, we can find a way to engage you! There is an application on the website — see the “Volunteering” Page — that you can print off and email or drop it off to the Club. All potential volunteers must provide a copy of a clear/clean Police Background Check before they can begin volunteering, these can be obtained through the Chatham-Kent Police Service or the Ontario Provincial Police.

How are you funded?

New Beginnings is a not-for-profit agency that receives funding through the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network and through the United Way. Additionally, the Club holds special fundraising events to help defray the costs of the programs/services provided. Finally, any and all donations are gratefully accepted!
